Senior politician Faisal Vawda has leveled serious accusations against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), alleging its complicity in the current government’s actions against party chairman Imran Khan.

In an interview on Aaj News’ program “Rubaroo” Vawda claimed that PTI’s support for the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is a charade, asserting that both parties share the common goal of keeping Imran Khan imprisoned.

Vawda stated that the negotiations between the government and PTI are merely a performance, predicting their eventual collapse and a subsequent exchange of accusations. He described the entire situation as a “drama,” alleging that both sides are secretly working together.

He further praised the army chief’s targeted operations against terrorists, claiming to have personally informed authorities about the presence of terrorists, including Ali Amin Gandapur, who he says has outstanding terrorism charges against him.

Vawda criticized the ongoing political games, stating that the PTI has consistently supported the government, citing the 26th Constitutional Amendment as an example. He accused both parties of benefiting from the status quo, receiving government facilities, and publicly displaying unity while secretly working toward a common objective.

Vawda expressed skepticism about the formation of a judicial commission, suggesting it’s merely a tactic, and predicted that the PTI’s expectations will not be met. He also commented on the current political climate, describing the nation as a “mob” and reiterating that both the government and the PTI ultimately aim to keep Imran Khan incarcerated. Vawda warned of the potential consequences of this strategy, referencing February 8 as a significant date and expressing concern over the use of “trump cards” in the political game.

This statement follows Imran Khan’s announcement to end negotiations with the government after its failure to establish a judicial commission as promised. PTI’s Barrister Gohar had previously stated that negotiations would only resume if a three-judge commission was formed.
