Intraday update: dollar rises against rupee in interbank market

Weaker dollar makes gold more attractive to foreign buyers

The dollar price in the interbank market increased by 10 paise to reach Rs278.75 during the intraday trading.

The rupee appreciated by 0.08% against the US dollar in the interbank market during the opening hours of trading.

The local currency finished at 278.71, compared to 278.58 at the end of the last week against the US dollar, the State Bank of Pakistan said.

Meanwhile, the KSE-100 index gained 245.69 points to reach 116,090.5 levels at 12:18pm.
