Suspect arrested in London for threatening PM Shehbaz, PML-N President Nawaz
The Scotland Yard has arrested a suspect in London for allegedly threatening the lives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his elder brother Nawaz Sharif.
The accused, identified as Gulfam, reportedly used TikTok to issue threats against the Sharif brothers.
The suspect had posted videos on his TikTok account, including one showing stone-pelting at Awan-e-Sadr. PML-N leader Khurram Butt in the UK had previously referred the suspect’s social media activity to Scotland Yard.
Four days prior to the arrest, the police issued a warrant for the suspect’s capture. Sources added that the suspect was a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporter.
Butt told Geo News that he submitted nearly a dozen Urdu videos to the police, showing Kayani issuing “death threats and inciting violence” against members of the Sharif family.
“He explicitly threatened that he was willing to go to jail after harming the Sharif family, naming PM Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif, and other relatives as his targets. While peaceful protests are acceptable, threats are not,” the PML-N leader said.
