In her visit to Islamia University Bahawalpur, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the launch of the Honhaar Scholarship Program for the Bahawalpur Division.
She also provided key updates on the highly anticipated CM Punjab Laptop Scheme.
While addressing an audience of students and educators, she emphasised the importance of unity and education, stating, “hatred destroys humans” and reaffirmed her commitment to fostering inclusivity and harmony.
Key Highlights from the Honhaar Program Announcement:
Honhaar Scholarship Programme
Scholarships will be awarded to students from 30,000 government and 10,000 private schools across Punjab, with 18,000 female students specifically targeted to encourage greater female participation in education.
Laptop Scheme Updates
The first shipment of laptops has arrived and will soon be distributed, prioritising deserving students, particularly those from minority communities and academic high achievers. A total of 2,000 laptops will be allocated to students from minority backgrounds, while top performers in matriculation and intermediate examinations will also receive laptops along with a “guard of honour.”
Laptop Specifications
The laptops provided under the Honhaar Laptop Scheme will feature 13th-generation Core i7 models, ensuring that students have access to the latest technology for their academic needs.
Distribution Timeline
On November 20, CM Maryam Nawaz instructed officials to complete the laptop distribution process within 90 days to ensure timely delivery to deserving students.
