A public holiday has been announced for December 5 in the Sheikhupura district of Punjab to accommodate the by-elections.

The by-election for the Punjab Assembly constituency of PP-139 Ferozewala will take place on that day, prompting the declaration of a holiday.

The Deputy Commissioner’s Office has issued a notification confirming the holiday to facilitate the election process.

This by-election follows the vacancy created by the passing of a previously won seat after Rana Tanveer Hussain vacated it, Rana Afzal Hussain.
