Former president Dr Arif Alvi has apologised for sharing an old video on the social media platform X, erstwhile Twitter.

Alvi posted old images from a PTI rally, but shortly after, Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari criticised him for sharing a misleading image related to the rally. Bukhari pointed out that he had shared a video from Kashmir’s August 14 celebrations.

Realising his mistake, Alvi not only deleted the images but also issued a public apology.

“After a fact check, I have deleted two posts, as they were images from a previous occasion. I apologise for the error. Social Media is too big to be bagged or shutdown. Only error corrections can tame this Leviathan,” he wrote.
