Pakistan thwarts attempt to smuggle weapons from Afghanistan
The weapons were concealed in two cargo vehicles
Frontier Corps and Customs conducted a joint operation at the Torkham border and thwarted an attempt to smuggle arms from Afghanistan to Pakistan on Sunday.
Illegal weapons were seized from two cargo vehicles during the search at Torkham border.
The seized weapons included three M16 rifles, two Bretta pistols, 4000 rounds of AK 47, 8 bolts of AK 47.
Apart from this, five pistol magazines, 8000 rounds of 9 mm pistol, 40 springs and one pistol were recovered.
The drivers were arrested and the weapons were handed over to Customs for legal action.
