Islamabad and adjoining areas to witness severe cold

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly cloudy and cold weather for twin cities and adjoining areas as the temperature is expected to decrease.

According to the forecast, the weather will remain cold and dry across the country while the upper areas will witness severe coldness. The minimum temperature of -1 to -9 degrees Celsius has been recorded in some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while -9 to -5 degrees Celsius mercury recorded in Gilgit Baltistan.

The weather will be cold and dry in most of the districts of the province, while it will remain very cold in Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas.

As per the advisory, the weather will remain cold and dry in most of the districts of the province of Balochistan where the temperature is anticipated to go down to -2 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, low intensity in coldness has been recorded in Sindh province where the mercury is up to 16 degrees Celsius. Some parts of the province will witness fog and smog in early morning and late at night.
