After an underwhelming World Cup campaign, Pakistan’s bowling coach Morne Morkel resigned from his position on Monday.

The former South African pacer has formally informed the Pakistan Cricket Board about his decision.

However, sources said that major changes could be expected in the team’s coaching staff over the next few days and the dismissal of team director Mickey Arthur is also on the cards.

The sources added that former Pakistani pacer Umar Gul could be made bowling coach for the team’s tour of Australia.

Pakistan finished fifth in the World Cup with four wins out of nine games and missed out on a semi-final spot.
