The Pakistan Cricket Board has registered a protest over Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah’s unilateral decision to hold Asia Cup matches in Colombo, sources said.

The PCB has called for convening a meeting of the ACC to protest against such a decision without consulting it.

Sources said that all members of the ACC unanimously agreed on changing the venue to Hambantota, but Shah informed the PCB through an email that matches would not be shifted to another venue and would be played in Colombo.

Sources had told Aaj News that the ACC was considering moving Asia Cup games in the Super Four round away from the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo to Hambantota.

The reports came after PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf in a telephonic conversation with the Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Jay Shah discussed rain-affected India-Pakistan and proposed that a decision should be taken accordingly to hold the matches in Pakistan or UAE.
