Investigation into the murder of Mufti Abdul Qayyum has started, sources in the investigation team said, adding that three institutions, including police, were part of the team.

There are similarities between the murders of private school director Khalid Raza and Maulana Abdul Qayyum, they added.

Qayyum’s killing was the latest in a series of murders.

Investigation officers have started searching the sleeper cells in the areas of Sachal and Gulistan-e-Johar in Karachi. They added that both the suspects were shot in the head.
