Dollar further slides against rupee

Local currency appreciates by Rs1.62 in inter-bank market

KARACHI: The rupee appreciated by Rs1.62 against the dollar in the inter-bank market during early morning trade on Friday. This is the sixth consecutive session when the local currency strengthened against the greenback.

The rupee was being traded at Rs228.

The local currency closed at Rs229.63 on Thursday, the State Bank of Pakistan said.
