PM approves provision of discovered natural gas from former tribal areas to people

The premier directs to utilize these gas reserves to get rid of its shortage

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the provision of natural gas discovered from former tribal areas, to the people immediately.

During a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, the premier was briefed about the gas reserves discovered from North Waziristan and Bannu. He directed to utilize these gas reserves to get the people rid of its shortage.

The prime minister was briefed about the overall situation of the gas sector and the demand and supply of gas in the country.

He gave this approval during a meeting with Chairman Fauji Foundation Group Waqar Ahmad Malik, and Head of Mari Petroleum Fahim Haider, who called on the Prime Minister here in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Minister of State for Petroleum Senator DrMusadik Malik and Secretary Petroleum Division were also present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the premier was briefed about the gas reserves discovered from North Waziristan and Bannu. He directed to utilize these gas reserves to get rid of its shortage.

He was also briefed about the overall situation of the gas.
