The National Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution strongly condemning recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan and called for decisive action against militants and their facilitators.
The resolution, moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, praised the timely response of security forces, law enforcement agencies and the Balochistan government, and expressed solidarity with the families of martyrs and the injured.
The House voiced concern over attempts by terrorist networks to exploit women through coercion and blackmail, calling it contrary to Islamic, Pakistani and Baloch values. It declared attacks on civilians, women and children as unpardonable crimes and stressed a zero-tolerance policy.
The resolution noted evidence of external patronage in several incidents, raising concerns over India’s alleged role, and accused neighbouring countries of facilitating terrorism through funding, logistics, training and propaganda.
It demanded an immediate, coordinated national response combining political, diplomatic, military, intelligence and legal measures.
Speaking in the House, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary said Pakistan would defeat terrorism, noting that security forces had killed 177 terrorists in Balochistan with intelligence support. He urged political unity and full backing for security forces.
Members across party lines condemned the violence, called for implementation of the National Action Plan, and stressed dialogue, development and protection of Baloch rights.
The House also passed a separate resolution urging the international community, including the United Nations, to play an effective role in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
