A husband and wife were found dead inside their house in a suburban area of Jhang on Monday, prompting a police investigation into whether the incident was a murder or suicide.

According to police, the bodies were recovered from a house in Chak No. 167.

The deceased were identified as 25-year-old Kareem Bibi and her 35-year-old husband Ghulam Mustafa, also known as Saifullah.

Muhammad Imran, the woman’s uncle, informed police that the couple had been killed. Acting on the information, police reached the scene, cordoned off the area, and collected forensic evidence.

Eyewitnesses said cries of a child were heard from the house in the morning. When repeated knocks went unanswered, locals broke open the door and found the couple lying dead, with blood visible around their mouths.

The child was also reportedly vomiting and was taken for medical care.

The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Jhang, for post-mortem examination. Police said investigations were ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
