The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched a major crackdown against fake and phishing e-challan websites, blocking more than 100 fraudulent domains with the support of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
According to the authority, the blocked websites were illegally collecting online payments from citizens under the pretext of e-challans, posing a serious risk of financial fraud and data theft.
A PSCA spokesperson said legal action against those involved has been intensified, adding that a zero-tolerance policy is being enforced against elements engaged in online fraud.
Officials said several fraudulent domains were taken down, including: echallan-psca.top, pscaechallan.com, echallanpunjab.com, and pscaechallan.vip.
The spokesperson warned that scammers were using names similar to the official PSCA portal to mislead citizens into making illegal online payments.
The authority urged citizens not to pay e-challans on any unverified or suspicious website. Users have been advised to use only the official PSCA e-challan portal: echallan.psca.gop.pk for checking and paying traffic fines.
PSCA said monitoring of the digital space has been further strengthened, and action against fake websites operating in the name of Safe Cities will continue.
The authority also advised citizens to report suspicious links and websites to help prevent online fraud and protect public data.
