Japan provides advanced medical equipment to Karachi foundation

The Government of Japan provided medical equipment to Muhammadi Haematology, Oncology Services & Welfare Foundation (Muhammadi Foundation) in Karachi, under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The handover ceremony was held on Thursday in the presence of Consul General HATTORI Masaru, Syed Mehdi Hassan Rizvi, General Secretary of the Muhammadi Foundation and Dr Dur-e-Naz Jamal, Secretary of Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority.

The four new state-of-the art Hematology Analyzers made in Japan will enable the Muhammadi Foundation to screen approximately 120 blood samples daily.

As a result, the foundation will provide patients with early diagnosis and quality treatment for patients with blood-related illnesses, according to a statement.

In his speech, the consul general HATTORI emphasised that providing early diagnosis and quality treatment for patients with blood-related illnesses requiring lifelong treatment would help them lead their lives with dignity and comfort.

He stated that the project will be the symbol of the enduring friendship between Japan and Pakistan.

Rizvi, General Secretary of the Muhammadi Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the people and the Government of Japan, stating that this support will enhance quality healthcare to the patients with thalassaemia and other blood-related illnesses in Pakistan.

The Government of Japan will further develop bilateral relations by continuing to stand by the Pakistani people and provide timely support to local NGOs.
