Police on Saturday arrested two more suspects in the abduction and murder case of Dr Warda Mushtaq, marking another key development in the high-profile investigation.
The suspects, identified as Hasnain and Faisal, were arrested from the Lari Banota area, Abbottabad police said.
Hasnain is the son of the deceased suspect Shamraiz, who was earlier killed in a police encounter.
According to police, Faisal confessed during interrogation that he, along with the prime suspect Adil, had dug a pit and buried Dr Warda’s body after her killing.
Officials said both men were found to be directly involved in the case.
The suspects were produced before the relevant court, which granted a three-day physical remand to the police for further investigation.
Police said the scope of the investigation had been expanded, and further questioning of the suspects was underway to uncover additional details and identify any remaining accomplices.
Dr Warda, a doctor at DHQ Hospital Abbottabad, was abducted and later murdered in what police have described as a premeditated crime. With the latest arrests, police have so far taken into custody multiple suspects linked to the case, while efforts continue to trace others who may be involved.
