The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi on Tuesday arrested target killer Ameen alias Muna, along with three of his associates, for their involvement in sectarian target killings.
Ameen alias Muna is reportedly linked to the Qasim Rasheed faction of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and had previously been arrested by the CTD.
Investigators said Ameen and his accomplices were involved in the killings of police informers and a young man, Adil Hussain, in Orangi Town.
Besides sectarian murders, the group also carried out contract killings, officials added.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Ameen alias Muna, Asim Ahmed, Zain-ul-Abideen and Muhammad Afroze.
CTD officials said the group had gathered information on several individuals placed on their hit list.
During the raid, one of the suspects got injured after he jumped from the second floor in an attempt to escape. He was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
The CTD officials further stated that the group was involved in the target killing of four people in Orangi a few days ago, and shell casings recovered from the crime scene matched the weapon recovered from Ameen.
