Newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore took the oath of office on Tuesday.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the President’s House, where Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar administered the oath to the new prime minister.

The event was attended by the governors of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PPP leader Faryal Talpur, members of the AJK Legislative Assembly, senior civil officials, and military leadership.

Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has become the 16th Prime Minister of AJK.

Addressing the ceremony, Rathore expressed gratitude to Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur, and Bilawal Bhutto for entrusting him with the responsibility.

He paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for safeguarding the nation through their sacrifices, and said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had taken on the responsibility of reconnecting with the public.
