Ducky Bhai’s bail hearing delayed as Lahore High Court roster changes

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday could not hear the bail petition of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, in the online gambling app promotion case due to roster changes.

Justice Shahram Sarwar, who was scheduled to hear the petition, is currently on leave, prompting the court to cancel Monday’s cause list.

Earlier, Justice Farooq Haider had recused himself from the case, leading the court to refer the file to the chief justice for reassignment.

Ducky Bhai, through his counsel Advocate Imran Chadhar, has petitioned the LHC for bail.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and several others have been named as respondents.

In his petition, the YouTuber claimed that the NCCIA arrested him at Lahore airport while he was travelling abroad, without issuing any prior notice or summons.

He had previously spent 10 days in physical remand before being sent to judicial custody.

He faces allegations of promoting illegal gambling applications on social media.

Meanwhile, a Lahore district court extended his judicial remand by 14 days on Monday at the request of the Federal Investigation Agency to allow the investigation to continue.
