Tennis player Sania Mirza has described her divorce from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik as the worst experience of her life, saying it left her “suffering a panic attack”.
Mirza said she had been “shivering” during a live show after the separation, recalling how she briefly lost consciousness before the director and choreographer stepped in to manage the situation.
While hosting the show, Farah Khan said she had seen Mirza’s highs and lows and praised her for handling both with grace.
Mirza thanked her for standing by her through every phase.
Mirza said she would not have gone ahead with the live shoot without Khan’s insistence, adding that at her lowest moment after the divorce, Khan had shown up on set.
Mirza and Malik separated after 12 years of marriage.
Malik is now married to actor Sana Javed, his third wife.
Two days earlier, Indian media highlighted a cryptic post by Mirza on Instagram, where she shared a motivational message about marriage, divorce and choosing life’s difficulties.
