Federal Judicial Complex reopens after Islamabad suicide attack

The Federal Judicial Complex in Islamabad reopened on Thursday following the deadly suicide attack outside the courthouse earlier this week.

Strict security measures were put in place, as a large number of lawyers and litigants visited the complex.

Lawyers’ staff were allowed entry upon presenting official identification, while visitors were subjected to thorough searches and registration before being permitted inside.

Investigations into the suicide attack were ongoing, and security agencies have collected all evidence from the site.

Strict security measures also affected routine proceedings at the Islamabad High Court, where judges heard only urgent cases.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Bar has announced a continuation of its strike and boycott of court proceedings today and tomorrow.

The attack, which occurred two days ago in the G-11 area of Islamabad, claimed 12 lives.

At least 38 people sustained injuries. Later, authorities recovered the head of the suicide attacker from the scene.
