Under the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, significant measures have been introduced for blind individuals, including a monthly stipend of Rs12,000 for five thousand registered persons.
The Social Welfare Department informed protesters about these initiatives during talks led by DG Social Welfare Tariq Qureshi.
Senior officials also engaged with demonstrators to explain the measures.
The government has ensured equal representation for all disability categories under a three per cent job quota.
Separate job quotas have been notified, and all departments have been instructed to implement them immediately.
Requests have also been made to advertise vacant positions under the disability quota.
Officials said the measures will provide financial relief and social protection for blind persons throughout the province.
