Car runs over people sleeping on footpath near Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine

In Karachi’s Clifton area, a car ran over people sleeping on a footpath near the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine, killing two and injuring four others.

Rescue officials transferred the deceased and injured to nearby hospitals.

According to police, the car driver, who was intoxicated at the time, was also injured along with a companion. Both were taken into custody from the hospital.

The motorcyclist was killed in the crash, which also involved a high-speed encounter with a motorcycle.

Mudassir, Shakeel, Ahad, and Tahir are among the injured, while Kareem and Shabbir have been named as the dead.

Police have opened an inquiry into the event, highlighting the significance of driving recklessly when intoxicated.
