Katy Perry’s latest music video for her new song “Bandaids” features a touching tribute to her 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom.
The “Dark Horse” singer released the video on November 6, showing a series of scenes where she suffers minor injuries through freak accidents while appearing to sing about her breakup with Bloom.
The couple ended their engagement in June after nine years together.
“Hand to God, I promise I tried, There’s no stone left unturned,” Perry sings in the opening verse.
“It’s not what you did, it’s what you didn’t. You were there, but you weren’t.”
Despite the heartbreak, Perry expresses no regrets about their relationship.
In one poignant moment, she notices a single daisy growing between empty train tracks, symbolising the lasting gift of their daughter.
“If I had to do it all over again, I would still do it all over again,” she lip-synchs, before adding, “The love that we made was worth it in the end.”
The “Firework” singer has often spoken about how motherhood has shaped her life and creativity.
“What she has given me in my life [is] the unconditional love that I was always searching for,” Perry told E! News in April 2024.
“That is where I am creating from, wholeness, happiness, and true, full love.”
Perry has also shared that Bloom, who is also father to 14-year-old Flynn with ex Miranda Kerr, feels equally blessed.
“She had some good karma coming to us,” the 41-year-old said in a 2024 interview with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up. “She is such our gift and she is such a blessing.”
