The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold a meeting on October 31 regarding local government elections in Punjab, sources said on Thursday.
The sources said the meeting, initially scheduled for Thursday, was postponed by a day.
The Punjab chief secretary and the secretary of local government have been summoned to attend the meeting.
The meeting will review preparations for the upcoming local government elections, with briefings expected on delimitation processes, demarcation rules, and the completion of legal and administrative arrangements.
Meanwhile, the ECP has issued notices to three political parties for failing to hold intra-party elections, officials said on Thursday.
According to the ECP, notices have been served to the National Front Pakistan, Aam Log Ittehad, and Pakistan Human Party.
The commission stated that hearings against all three parties will be held on November 4, adding that the cases were prepared by the ECP’s Confidential Wing.
The ECP will also hear a separate petition on the same day regarding Qasim Naveed’s holding of dual party positions, the statement said.
