Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman held an important meeting in Islamabad on Monday to discuss the evolving political situation in the country.
The meeting, held at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence, was attended by senior PPP leaders Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Humayun Khan, and Jameel Soomro, while the JUI-F was represented by Maulana Asad Mahmood and Mufti Abrar.
During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on the prevailing political situation, parliamentary affairs, upcoming legislation, and relations between the government and allied parties.
Sources said the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, adding that both leaders agreed on the need to maintain political stability and democratic continuity in the current circumstances.
Bilawal Bhutto expressed concerns over the growing tensions between the government and its coalition partners, while Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasised the importance of reconciliation and dialogue in the prevailing political environment.
The two leaders also discussed electoral reforms, economic stability, and possible coordination during the upcoming parliamentary session.
Following the meeting, the PPP delegation left Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence without speaking to the media.
