The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Friday approved a grant of Rs2.5 billion for the establishment of the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park under the Pakistan Navy.
The ECC meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, also approved 45 million UAE dirhams — available in rupee cover with the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) — to settle an overdraft facility used by FWO for its overseas construction projects in the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, the committee approved Rs455.984 million for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to meet expenses related to local government elections during the 2025-26 fiscal year.
The installation of individual electricity meters in the Pakistan Mint Residential Colony was also approved.
The ECC further sanctioned Rs21.5 million for the procurement of spare parts for helicopter maintenance by the Headquarters Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) during the current financial year.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Aurangzeb directed all relevant ministries and provincial authorities to ensure the effective implementation of measures aimed at price stabilisation and controlling inflation.
