Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, met Romania’s State Secretary of Defence, Eduard Bachide, and Chief of Defence, General Gheorgiță Vlad, during his official visit to Romania, to discuss avenues for deeper military cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting focused on strengthening defence collaboration and exploring new opportunities for joint training, operational synergy, and professional exchanges.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu said Pakistan values its strong diplomatic and defence ties with Romania, which are founded on shared perspectives regarding regional peace and security.
He reaffirmed PAF’s commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation and exploring new areas of partnership, says a statement issued by the ISPR.
The Romanian State Secretary of Defence commended the PAF for its remarkable combat record and operational excellence and expressed Romania’s keen interest in benefiting from the PAF’s extensive operational experience.
General Gheorgiță Vlad also praised the professionalism and capabilities of the PAF and voiced Romania’s desire to enhance cooperation through joint exercises, training exchanges, and professional development initiatives aimed at long-term strategic collaboration.
The visit of the PAF chief, the ISPR said, marks an important step towards strengthening defence relations between Pakistan and Romania and reflects the mutual resolve of both nations to address emerging security challenges through continued engagement.
