The Government of Pakistan has decided to completely redesign the national passport, introducing new security features and incorporating images of iconic landmarks from all four provinces.
According to official sources, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has obtained formal approval from the Ministry of Interior to move forward with the redesign.
The printing of the new passport booklets will soon begin at the Pakistan Security Printing Corporation.
The Immigration and Passports Department clarified that the new passport will now feature both the father’s and the mother’s names.
In addition to updated security enhancements, the visa pages will carry photographs of historic and culturally significant buildings representing each province.
Officials emphasised that the new design reflects modernisation and alignment with international standards.
Other than the inclusion of new features, no changes are being made to the passport’s fundamental structure or validity rules.
