In a major public service initiative, the Punjab government has launched a mobile police station and licensing unit in Multan to provide police services directly to citizens, particularly female students and women.
The project aims to enhance accessibility, convenience, and trust between the public and law enforcement agencies.
As part of the initiative, a Pink Police Service Van was inaugurated at the Women’s University Multan to offer on-site facilities for female students and staff.
The mobile unit provides over 15 essential police services, including the issuance and renewal of learner, regular, and international driving licences, as well as character certificates and FIR registration.
The van was inaugurated by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Kashif Aslam, along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Kulsoom Paracha.
Speaking on the occasion, CTO Aslam said the initiative marks a milestone in improving public access to police services and empowering women by making facilities available at their doorstep.
Female students and faculty members welcomed the initiative, calling it a progressive step that makes essential services more accessible within their university.
CTO Aslam added that the mobile units will regularly visit educational institutions and workplaces to extend these facilities, reflecting the government’s vision of citizen-friendly policing and community engagement.
The initiative is expected to play a key role in strengthening the relationship between the police and the public while setting new standards for convenience and inclusivity in public service delivery.
