PCB eyes Zimbabwe as replacement in upcoming tri-nation series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering inviting Zimbabwe as the third team for the tri-nation series scheduled in November after reports emerged that the Afghanistan team will not participate amid ongoing border clashes.

According to PCB sources, the series will go ahead as per its schedule from November 17 to 29, with matches scheduled in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Originally, the tri-series was planned to feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

However, after Afghanistan’s withdrawal, the PCB is exploring different options to ensure the series goes ahead, with Zimbabwe emerging as a likely replacement.

The PCB confirmed that the series will proceed according to schedule, and further details regarding the final lineup of teams are expected soon.
