The Sindh government on Friday announced a major reshuffle in the provincial cabinet, with several key ministers and advisers reassigned new portfolios.
As part of the changes, Saeed Ghani was removed from the Local Government Department and appointed as Minister for Labour and Social Protection, while Nasir Hussain Shah was handed the Local Government portfolio in addition to his existing charge of the Energy Department.
Shahid Thaheem, who previously held the Labour Ministry, has now been appointed Minister for Health.
Meanwhile, Jam Khan Shoro was given additional responsibility for the Planning and Development (P&D) Department.
In another change, Makhdoom Mehboob was moved from the Relief Department to become Minister for Food, while adviser Jabar Khan had the Food portfolio taken back and was reassigned as Adviser on Relief.
Special Assistant Ali Rashid was given the Information Technology Department, and senior PPP leader Ismail Rahu was inducted as Minister for Universities and Boards.
Additionally, Sham Sundar Advani was appointed as Special Assistant.
The reshuffle was formalised at a swearing-in ceremony held at Governor House Karachi, where the new ministers took oath of office.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori administered the oath, with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, provincial ministers, and other dignitaries in attendance.
