An Islamabad district and sessions court on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for activist-lawyer Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in a case related to alleged controversial tweets against the state and national security institutions.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka directed that both accused be arrested and produced before the court on September 24.
The court dismissed an urgent plea for cancellation of the warrants and adjourned further proceedings of the case until September 24.
National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had filed a case against Imaan Mazari and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, over the tweets against the state under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
