The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab on Sunday issued an alert for the 11th spell of monsoon rains across the province.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, rain is expected in the upper areas of the rivers in Punjab from September 16 to 19.

In view of the expected rains, the PDMA Punjab has instructed all commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province to remain on alert.

The PDMA Punjab stated there is also a risk of flooding in streams and nullahs due to the rains.

The PDMA spokesperson urged the public to take precautionary measures during bad weather and avoid recreational activities near rivers.
