The security forces killed 35 terrorists affiliated to the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Khwarij in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in two separate operations between September 10 and 13.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bajaur after receiving reports about the presence of militants.

During the operation, the hideout was effectively targeted, and 22 militants operating under Indian patronage were killed in a heavy exchange of fire.

The ISPR stated that security forces also carried out another operation in South Waziristan, where 13 more militants were neutralised. However, during an intense fire exchange, 12 brave soldiers of the motherland were martyred.

According to the ISPR, the slain militants were involved in various terrorist activities. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession.

Intelligence reports have confirmed the involvement of Afghan nationals in these heinous acts, the ISPR added.

The ISPR said that the continued use of Afghan soil by Fitna Al Khwarij against Pakistan remained a matter of serious concern.

Pakistan expects the interim Afghan government to fulfil its responsibilities and deny use of its soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan, it added.

Sanitisation operations were being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Khwarij in the area, as the security forces remained determined to eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country, and the sacrifices of the brave martyrs further strengthen this resolve, the ISPR added.
