Renowned Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha has announced it will cease production operations in Pakistan, ending a decades-long presence in the local market.
In an official notification, Yamaha Motor Pakistan said the decision was made in line with its internal policy.
The company expressed gratitude to Pakistani riders who made Yamaha a part of their lives, while assuring that after-sales services and spare parts availability will continue.
Yamaha first entered Pakistan in 1976, with models like the YB100 becoming household names.
In 2015, the company established a direct manufacturing facility, introducing popular models such as the YBR125, YBR125G, and YB125Z, which gained strong popularity among young riders and biking enthusiasts.
Known for its quality and comfort, Yamaha motorcycles have long been considered a reliable choice for long routes and difficult terrains.
On social media, many riders recalled their experiences, saying Yamaha stood out as a trusted option in challenging conditions.
Consumers, however, have expressed concerns that Yamaha’s exit will weaken competition in Pakistan’s motorcycle market, raising questions about whether after-sales services will remain at the same level.
In Pakistan, Yamaha models have been available in multiple variants, with the YB125 series priced between Rs424,000 and Rs485,000 in recent months.
