Pakistan, Iran launch direct flights to boost tourism and bilateral ties

Direct flights between Pakistan and Iran have officially commenced, marking a major step forward in strengthening bilateral relations.

The announcement was made by Iranian Ambassador Dr Reza Amiri Moqadam on Tuesday, who confirmed that the launch follows the finalisation of a comprehensive air travel agreement largely facilitated by the recent visit of the Iranian President to Pakistan.

The direct flights will be operated by Iran Air Tour, one of Iran’s prominent airlines. Officials from both sides believe the move will enhance tourism, promote cultural exchange, and improve people-to-people connectivity between the two neighbouring countries.

Ambassador Moqadam thanked the Pakistani government for its cooperation in implementing the agreement and noted that the new air link would allow Iranian travellers to explore Pakistan’s scenic landscapes and warm hospitality.

He also highlighted that easier and more direct travel routes will play a vital role in strengthening business ties and creating new opportunities for tourism professionals and entrepreneurs in both countries.
