Veteran actor Anwar Ali passes away in Lahore

Senior Pakistani actor Anwar Ali, 75, passed away after a prolonged illness, family sources confirmed on Sunday night.

The veteran actor of stage, television, and film had been suffering from lung and kidney complications and had been under treatment for several days.

On Saturday night, his health deteriorated, and he was admitted to a hospital on Raiwind Road, where he breathed his last.

Details regarding his funeral prayers have not yet been announced.

Anwar Ali is remembered as one of Pakistan’s finest comedians and character actors, who won hearts with his sharp wit, unique style, and unmatched sense of humor.

His performances in popular dramas such as “Ababeel”, “Home Sweet Home”, and “Andhera Ujala” earned him immense recognition.

After a highly successful career, Anwar Ali distanced himself from showbiz years ago and devoted his life to religion.
