According to a notification issued on Sunday, the price of an LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs14, while per-kilogram rates have been slashed by Rs1.20.
As per the notification, the LPG producer price has been fixed at Rs172,892 per metric ton, equivalent to Rs2,040 for an 11.8kg cylinder. The marketing, distribution, and transportation margin has been set at Rs35,000 per ton.
The maximum LPG consumer price has been set at Rs214,192 per metric ton, which translates into Rs2,527 for an 11.8kg cylinder. The revised maximum retail price of LPG now stands at Rs214.19 per kilogram.
OGRA clarified that prices will be regulated at every level of the supply chain, and producers as well as distributors are allowed to sell LPG at lower rates if possible.
