The Federal Capital Territory Islamabad and various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa felt the tremors of a moderate earthquake on Wednesday.
Peshawar, Swat, Dir, Swabi, Buner, Gilgit, and several other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were included.
According to the Seismological Centre, the quake measured 5.3 on the Richter scale. Its epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 110 kilometres.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage have been received so far. Residents in many areas, however, rushed out of their homes and offices in fear as the tremors were felt.
