A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held today (Sunday) in Islamabad to sight the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 Hijri.
The meeting will be chaired by Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Members of the committee, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO, Meteorological Department, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, will attend the meeting.
The committee will review moon sighting testimonies received from across the country. Zonal committee meetings will also be held in cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar.
The final announcement regarding the sighting of the moon will be made by Chairman Abdul Khabir Azad.
It is worth noting that the Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of sighting the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon today (Sunday).
The month of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 Hijri is expected to begin on August 25.
According to the Meteorological Department, the birth of the moon occurred at 11.06am on August 23, and partly cloudy weather is expected on the evening of August 24.
