PDMA reports moderate flooding in Punjab rivers

Water flow in various rivers of Punjab is increasing rapidly following monsoon rains and glacier melting, which have caused low and medium-level floods in many areas.

According to a latest report by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab, moderate flooding has been witnessed in the Indus River at some points, including Tarbela, Chashma, Kalabagh, and Taunsa barrages.

The report said that the water flow in the Kabul, Jhelum, Ravi and Chenab rivers is currently normal.

The PDMA report stated that low-level flooding has been observed in Nulla Aik, Phulko, and Nullah Basantar in Lahore, raising concerns for low-lying areas.
