New rocket force command set to transform defence strategy in Pakistan

Prominent Indian defence analyst Parvin Sawhney, in his recent vlog, disclosed that People’s Liberation Party ( PLA ) of China is now collaborating at all levels to transform Pakistan into a modern and influential military power.

He stated that Pakistan’s newly established “Army Rocket Force” is a direct outcome of this cooperation, modelled on the Chinese framework.

Commenting on Pakistan’s announcement of the new Rocket Force Command, Sawhney noted that its formation was inspired by the PLA’s Rocket Force, aimed at elevating Pakistan’s military capabilities to a new level.

According to Sawhney, Pakistan Air Force put its capabilities to practical use during “Operation Sindoor” and during this, Pakistan adopted a new war concept of “multi-dimensional operations”.

He further stated that Pakistan used BVR (Beyond Visual Range) missiles instead of conventional combat, which enabled the Pakistan Air Force to implement its modern military strategy.

Sawhney also emphasised that Pakistan’s new Rocket Force Command will be fully supported by China’s BeiDou satellite system, which provides 24-hour surveillance and helps in accurately targeting Pakistan’s missiles. This Chinese system will play an important role in further strengthening Pakistan’s military capabilities.

The Defence expert discussed India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and its addition of the AGNI-V nuclear missiles, which have a range of 5,000 km and can hit underground bunkers from 80 to 100 km away, capable of destroying up to 100 meters deep.

He suggested that Pakistan’s new Rocket Force Command could be a response to this Indian initiative, enabling Pakistan to counter such actions by India.

Sawhney said that China’s role in increasing Pakistan’s military power could change the balance of power in the region.

He also added that with China’s help, Pakistan’s military capabilities would be strengthened, which would enable Pakistan to further increase its power not only in defence but also in military terms.

The Indian defence analyst said that Pakistan’s new Rocket Force Command would play an important role in balancing India’s defence plans.

Sawhney said that this new strategy of Pakistan and China’s support is a clear indication that Pakistan is trying to further strengthen its military capabilities in the region so that it can not only defend its borders, but also become an important player in the region in military power.
