The Pakistan Embassy, in collaboration with Ms Hao Yuejiao of the Asia-Africa Trade Promotion Office of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, on Wednesday hosted a mango festival in Beijing to promote premium Pakistani mangoes and mango-based products.
Titled “Golden Silk Road Mangoes: A True Oriental Treasure”, the event celebrated Pakistan’s fertile land, rich agricultural heritage, and world-class fruit exports.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi described mangoes, known as the “King of Fruits”, as central to Pakistan’s culture and traditions.
He said their sweetness and fragrance make them a symbol of hospitality and friendship, adding that sharing Pakistani mangoes with Chinese friends reflects Pakistan’s warmth and goodwill.
The ceremony was attended by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Saleem Mandviwalla, China International Cultural Exchange Centre Chairman Long Yuxiang, Dong’e Ejiao Vice President Liu Guangyuan, and China Fruit Marketing Association Vice President Zhang Qingfeng.
The dignitaries praised the Embassy’s role in strengthening cultural ties and promoting Pakistan’s agricultural products in China.
The festival drew diplomats, business leaders, academics, and media representatives.
