West Indies defeat Pakistan by 202 runs in the decisive ODI

The West Indies defeated Pakistan by a huge margin of 202 runs in the decisive third one day international at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Tuesday, and clinched the series against the visitors for the first time in 33 years.

Chasing a target of 295, the Green Shirts were bowled out for just 92 runs. The West Indies’ Jayden Seales took 6 wickets for only 18 runs.

Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, skipper Mohammad Rizwan, Hasan Ali, and Abrar Ahmed were all dismissed for duck.

Mohammad Nawaz remained not out with 23 runs, while Naseem Shah scored 6 and Hussain Talat made 1 run.

For the West Indies, Jayden Seales took 6 wickets, Gudakesh Motie claimed 2, and Roston Chase took 1 wicket.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. The West Indies scored 294 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs, setting Pakistan a target of 295.

The highlight of the innings was a century by West Indies captain Shai Hope under tough conditions. He played an unbeaten knock of 120 runs off 94 balls.

Justin Greaves also contributed with an unbeaten 43 off 24 balls, while Evin Lewis scored 37 and Roston Chase made 36 runs.

For Pakistan, Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed took 2 wickets each, while Mohammad Nawaz and Saim Ayub took one wicket each.

One change was made in the Pakistani team — Naseem Shah replaced Shaheen Shah Afridi.
