The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain with thunderstorms in Karachi, coastal Sindh, and several other parts of the country over the coming days.
According to the PMD, most regions will continue to experience hot and humid weather.
However, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected at scattered locations in Islamabad, the Potohar region, northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas.
In Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Jhelum, Lahore, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, and surrounding areas, intermittent rain is likely at some locations. Similar weather is expected in Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Battagram, Haripur, Nowshera, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and nearby districts.
In Balochistan, Khuzdar, Zhob, Musakhel, and adjoining areas may also receive rain with thunderstorms.
The PMD has further predicted rain in Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, hot and partly cloudy conditions will prevail, while in Azad Kashmir, rain with gusty winds and thunder is expected in some areas.
The PMD noted that the seventh spell of the monsoon season will begin on August 13, which could cause a rise in water levels in Punjab’s rivers.
