A woman washing clothes in the Nara Canal at RD-115 in Sukkur was critically injured when a crocodile attacked her, clamping its jaws on her leg and dragging her into the water.
She was later shifted to hospital in serious condition.
Police said the victim, identified as Kariman Bibi, was seized by the reptile and pulled into the canal.
Her husband, Hub-e-Ali, told reporters that the crocodile attacked his 30-year-old wife without warning, dragging her into deeper water.
“I immediately jumped into the canal,” he recounted.
“I managed to pull her out unconscious and badly injured, and rushed her to the nearest hospital for treatment.”The husband added that the crocodile remains near the canal bank, causing panic among residents.
He said the Wildlife Department has yet to respond despite being informed.
