More than 60,000 people are set to gather at Expo City Dubai on Saturday, August 10, to mark Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day at one of the largest community events in the UAE, Gulf News reported.
The public celebration, “Jashn Azaadi Pakistan”, will take place from 11am to 11pm across South Halls 1, 2, and 3 of the Dubai Exhibition Centre, with last entry at 6pm.
Organised by Emirates Loves Pakistan and the Pakistan Association Dubai, and supported by Dubai Police, the event will honour Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and the enduring friendship between Pakistan and the UAE.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will extend metro service until 2am on Monday, August 11 — one hour later than usual — to ensure smooth travel after the event.
Ample parking will be available at Opportunity Parking and DEC Parking D & C, with attendees able to reserve spots via QR code to ease congestion. A large fleet of taxis will be on standby, while Careem is offering a 15% discount on rides with promo code ELPAD15.
Shuttle buses will operate throughout the day between parking areas and the venue, providing easy access for families and those with limited mobility.
The day-long programme will feature cultural performances, artistic exhibitions, and musical shows, including live performances by acclaimed Pakistani artists Sahir Ali Bagga, Natasha Baig, and storyteller Yousuf Bashir Qureshi.
A special ceremony will honour distinguished members of the Pakistani community in the UAE for their contributions to the country’s growth and development.
Organisers say the event will showcase Pakistan’s arts, folklore, and traditions while highlighting the Pakistani community’s role in strengthening historic diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
With tens of thousands expected to attend, organisers are urging participants to register early for what is anticipated to be the largest gathering of Pakistanis in the Emirates.
